Relocatable Specialist Advances Mining and Renewable Projects with Strong Operational Gains
Over the past six months, the relocatable manufacturing operation led by Cameron has delivered a range of specialised units while refining processes and expanding its market reach.
Current workshop activity includes a Rio Tinto mobile shutdown trailer and crib room destined for the new Brockman Syncline project, where it will support operations in the broader Brockman and Greater Region area.
Current and Recent Projects
In addition to the Rio Tinto units, multiple smaller trailers—primarily double ablution facilities built to mine-site specifications—have been completed or remain under construction. The team has focused on improving the efficiency of solar and battery power systems fitted to these units.
A dome shelter project for Monadelphous is also underway in its early stages, with installation scheduled in approximately six weeks. Parallel research and development work is producing a new slide system that allows generators to be mounted on the rear of semi-trailers, adding further functionality to the product range.
Market Shifts and Growth Opportunities
Demand patterns have broadened. Tier-two contractors working for major mining companies are generating increased enquiry, while renewable energy installation projects continue to provide a steady stream of opportunities.
Civil contractors have also shown stronger interest in medium-sized trailers for upcoming works, signalling rising demand from smaller service-oriented firms.
Operational Challenges
Procurement remains the primary operational constraint. Lead times for many components—particularly those sourced from local manufacturers—have lengthened, complicating scheduling and the consistent use of preferred equipment across trailers. Switching to alternative products requires additional design time to ensure compatibility and performance.
Leadership and Organisational Wins
A standout achievement was the successful completion of the business’s first annual ISO audit several weeks ago. The external auditor provided strong positive feedback, confirming that procedures and processes introduced over the preceding twelve months align with current Australian standards and legislation and are being applied effectively in day-to-day operations.
Workforce changes over the same period have also delivered a noticeable improvement in workplace culture, driven by the arrival of new personnel.
Priorities for the Next 6–12 Months
Looking ahead, the primary commercial goal is to lift sales by 30–40 percent. Attention is focused on converting a higher proportion of existing proposals, including three larger trailer projects currently under negotiation. Success in securing one or two of these would represent a significant step forward.
On the rental side, the plan is to place at least five additional units into the lease fleet to gauge market appetite. Positive results would support further scaling of the rental offering.
With active projects for major clients, process improvements validated by ISO certification, and clear commercial targets, the relocatable operation is positioned to capitalise on demand from mining, renewables, and civil sectors in the months ahead.
